Light is a phenomenon that we experience every day, but may rarely think about. We may take it for granted that the sun comes up every day and in our modern world, we can light up a room with the simple flick of a switch. In this unit, we will look at what early scientists thought about light and the theories that they formulated. You will then choose one of these famous scientists and put yourself in their shoes as we explore the way light works using a series of practical investigations. You will create a blog of your findings under the assumed character of your scientist and you will add entries throughout the unit. The information about this task can be found below.

Internet research about your scientist - After you have chosen your scientist from the list on the assessment sheet above, find out more about them so that you can "get into character" for your blog and write 5 relevant ideas that this scientist had about light and determine, if you can, whether any of the ideas were correct or not.
